And we have the perfect homemade gift that is quick and easy to make and tastes delicious!

NZET Christmas Bark

Ingredients:

5oogm dark chocolate

350gm white chocolate

3 or 4 peppermint candy canes

Instructions:

1) Use a sharp knife to chop the dark chocolate into little slivers. In a double boiler, melt the chocolate until it is silky smooth. While the chocolate is melting, line a baking tray with baking paper.

2) Pour the melted chocolate onto your tray. Use the back of a spoon or spatula to spread the chocolate around until it makes a thin layer. Stick the tray in the fridge for 15 -20mins allowing the chocolate to firm up.

3) While the base layer is cooling, chop and melt the white chocolate as above.

4) Crush the candy canes  in a ziplock bag.

5) Once the dark chocolate has set pour the melted white chocolate over the dark chocolate using the back of the spoon or spatula to spread it around. If the dark chocolate melts a bit you can gently swirl the two together to create a marbled effect.

6) Sprinkle the crushed candy canes onto the warm white chocolate and return the baking tray to the fridge. Let your peppermint bark chill for a couple of hours or even overnight.

7) Once chilled and firm, break the bark into pieces using your hands or a heavy knife. Store in an airtight container and eat within 2 weeks.

To give this as a gift we suggest making it a few days before Christmas and packaging it in a funky airtight jar or container tied with some Christmas ribbon.

This is a great gift that looks amazing and tastes delicous!
