Day 1 Auckland - Rotorua

Kia ora, meet your Tour Manager, Driver and fellow travellers at Auckland Airport. Travel south to Hobbiton and Middle-Earth where we enjoy a tour of the movie site of Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit...

See the Hobbit holes, the mill and famous party tree and enjoy a cold drink at the Green Dragon. From here to Rotorua the city famous for bubbling mud, spouting water and wonderful Maori Culture.

Tonight we have our first home cooked meal a delicious duo of dinner and dessert. Later we get to know our fellow travellers and learn about the days ahead.

Day 2 Rotorua

Te Puia, the premier Maori Cultural centre in New Zealand, a place of spouting waters, boiling mudpools, and steaming vents is our first stop today....

After Te Puia, we have a group photo before some free time to try White Water Rafting, Ogo, Swoop Swing, a White Island tour or just soak in the hot mineral waters of the Polynesian Spa.

Tonight we are in for a very special night as we enter the world of Tamaki. Here we discover Maori art forms, ancient rituals and traditions, experience thrilling song and dance and then eat a delicious and authentic Maori Hangi.

Day 3 Rotorua - Wellington

Its off to Wellington today via Taupo and Tongariro National Park. Our first stop is a visit to the thunderous Huka falls situated on the beautiful Waikato River....

After lunch in Taupo we pass the three volcanoes, Mount Ruapehu, Tongariro and Ngauruhoe and travel south to the capital city of New Zealand Wellington.

Tonight dinner is your choice at one of the many café's and restaurants within walking distance for our accommodation.

Day 4 Wellington

Today we visit Te Papa, New Zealand's bold and innovative museum, where we can see the colossal squid, experience an earthquake and see examples of many of New Zealand's native birds and mammals.

This afternoon you have free time to explore and take in the sights of the city before meeting up to enjoy a tasty home cooked dinner.

Day 5 Wellington - Motueka

This morning we take the Interislander Ferry cruising between the North and South Islands.

 

Have your camera handy as the journey through the Marlborough Sounds is spectacular. We arrive in Picton, the gateway to the South Island, and from here we make our way to Motueka, our home for the next two nights and situated beside the beautiful Abel Tasman National Park.

Day 6 Motueka

We rise and shine bright and early to take advantage of this paradise.

We enjoy the ultimate sea kayaking experience and explore the beautiful golden beaches, peaceful coves and lagoons, offshore islands and wildlife

Stopping at our secluded beach, we have a picnic lunch and enjoy some free time to relax and go swimming before our trek back through the native forest.

Day 7 Motueka - Franz Josef

Have your cameras ready as our drive takes us through the Buller Gorge and the spectacular West Coast. We visit the famous Punakaiki (Pancake Rocks) and have time to explore the rocks and blowholes before making our way to Hokitika.......

 

We stop to watch expert carvers create beautiful Pounamu (New Zealand Jade) jewellery and learn about the history and tradition of this special stone.

From here we travel to Franz Josef where we stay overnight. You may wish to take a Scenic Helicopter (at a very special NZET price) and experience the awe-inspiring scenery of Fox and Franz Josef Glaciers as you climb to 6000ft.

Tonight we head to the Glacier Hot Pools - nestled in a rainforest and the perfect place to unwind and experience pure relaxation.

Day 8 Franz Josef - Wanaka

This morning we cross the Haast Pass travelling through three national parks and a world heritage park.

Fox Glacier attracts over 1000 people each day! Remember you're walking shoes and jacket as our walk today takes us to the base of Fox Glacier for an up close and personal look at the frozen glacier river that was formed thousands of years ago.

 

From here we head to Wanaka, a place of breathtaking lakes and mountains. We stop at Puzzling World, the world’s first modern-style maze and a deceptive, frustrating, confusing and definitely out of the ordinary experience! Later we have time for a game of 'Touch' before a quick swim in the lake.

Day 9 Wanaka - Milford Sound

Today we experience the ultimate Milford Sound experience, spend the night on the boat and wake up in one of the most beautiful places on earth. This is one of our exclusive and very special tour highlights.

 

We start with a drive into the mystical wilderness of Fiordland National Park and pass through the famous ‘Homer Tunnel’. From here we trade our coach for the Milford Mariner and cruise out to the open sea.


We have plenty of time to view the spectacular waterfalls, rainforest, mountains and wildlife and also go exploring in kayaks or simply go swimming in this amazing place (if you’re brave enough!).


As night falls, we enjoy a delicious buffet dinner then relax while doing some star gazing.

Day 10 Milford Sound - Queenstown

Kia ora Queenstown - the 'Adventure Capital' of New Zealand and home to the latest and greatest adventure activities from bungy jumping, skydiving and jet boating to whitewater rafting and canyon swinging.

Our first stop is the famous AJ Hackett base, the birthplace of bungy and one of the most famous attractions in Queenstown.

We watch the secrets of bungy and then for those of you who dare...you have time for an optional 43m bungy off Kawarau Bridge! It's then time to capture our awesome crew with a professional group photo before our short drive into the heart of Queenstown.

Tonight, enjoy some free time in this awesome alpine town and a meal of your choice.

Day 11 Queenstown

Today is a free day and time to make the most of the adventure activities on offer! With special NZET prices, try a Canyon Swing, Nevis Bungy, River Rafting, Horse Riding, Gondola & Luge or any of the other thrilling activities....

Do you feel like dangling on a high wire cable 134 metres over the valley floor? Then try the Nevis.

If jumping or being released from 109 metres into a canyon with over 70 different jumpstyles, try the Canyon Swing.

If you want to see the best views in Queenstown, sit back and relax in the Skyline Gondola which carries you 450 metres above Queenstown and Lake Wakatipu to the top of Bob's Peak.

Day 12 Queenstown - Tekapo - Christchurch

This morning we take a thrilling jet boat ride before making our way to Tekapo where we visit the famous 'Church of the Good Shepherd' and 'Collie Dog Memorial'. 

We travel onto Christchurch where tonight we have some final night fun with a mix of games, presentations and dinner party. Bring your tissues because tonight is full of laughs but also tears as you realise we have to say good bye tomorrow.

Day 13 Christchurch to Home

This morning we make our way to Christchurch airport where we are dropped off with an amazing bunch of new friends and 'ferntastic' memories....
